What Healing Magic Really Means

October Issue — Brandi’s Healing Magic

In this October reflection, I explore what healing magic really means — intention, action, and the courage to stay open to possibility.

A quiet moment to listen to what life is asking.
A quiet moment to listen to what life is asking.

What People Assume About “Healing Magic”

When people hear the name Brandi’s Healing Magic, they often make assumptions.

Some imagine crystals, candles, or mystical practices.

Others assume I’m talking exclusively about Reiki or energy healing.

While those things may sometimes be part of the conversation, they are not all that I mean when I say healing magic.

My definition is much simpler. And much more practical.

A More Practical Definition of Magic

To me, magic is the process of setting an intention, taking meaningful action, and remaining open to possibilities that are beyond our ability to predict.

That understanding did not come from spirituality alone.

It came from life.

It came from twenty years spent in the legal profession, helping people navigate some of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

It came from watching carefully crafted plans fall apart.

It came from witnessing unexpected solutions appear.

Again and again, I noticed something fascinating.

The people who moved forward most successfully were rarely the people who tried to control every outcome.

They were the people who knew what they wanted, took practical steps toward it, and remained flexible enough to recognize opportunity when it appeared.

To me, that is healing magic.

Not passive waiting.

Not wishful thinking.

Participation.

Intention, Action, Openness

When we set an intention, we provide direction.

When we take action, we demonstrate commitment.

When we remain open, we allow life to contribute something larger than our original plan.

The older I get, the more convinced I am that many of the most meaningful blessings in my life arrived this way.

Not because I forced them into existence.

Not because I sat still and hoped.

But because I moved toward something meaningful and left enough room for surprise.

October’s Invitation

October is often associated with mystery, intuition, and the unseen.

My invitation this month is simple:

Rather than searching for magic somewhere outside yourself, look more closely at your own life.

Where are you being called to take action?

What intention is asking for your attention?

And where might life be inviting you to loosen your grip and trust the process a little more?

You may discover that magic isn’t nearly as far away as you think.

Perhaps it has been quietly unfolding beside you all along.

Reflection Questions

Take a few moments with these questions:

  • What am I currently trying to create?

  • What practical step can I take this week?

  • Where am I holding too tightly to a specific outcome?

  • What unexpected possibility might I be overlooking?

Practical Magic Practice

This week, write down one intention.

Then identify one small action that moves you toward it.

Not a perfect action.

Not a dramatic action.

Just one meaningful step.

Then remain curious.

Notice who crosses your path.

Notice new ideas.

Notice opportunities.

Notice what begins to unfold.

A Gentle Invitation

If this reflection resonated with you, I’d love to hear from you.

What does magic mean in your life?

Share in the comments or simply take a few moments to journal about it.

And if you know someone who could use a little more ease, grace, and possibility right now, consider sharing this article with them.

With gratitude,

Brandi
